Harry Adorno

New York, NY
San Juan, Puerto Rico

Harry Adorno was raised in New York City’s El Barrio area, where he was influenced by all forms of Latin culture.  By the age of eleven, Harry had developed a kinship with salsa music, and joined The Boys Harbor of Music, a music school at The Museum of El Barrio, which is now the Harbor Conservatory for the Performing Arts.

Harry started playing Latin Music professionally in 1988 when he joined “Grupo Fascinacion”, one of the more popular Latin bands of the time.  He later joined Sergio George’s RMM Productions, which enabled him to work with a wide range of artists, including Cheo Feliciano, Celia Cruz, Ruben Blades, Adalberto Santiago, Junior Gonzales, Raulin Rosendo, the late Frankie Ruiz, and many other notable Latin performers.

As one of the most highly sought-after session musicians in Latin music today, Harry performs and records with many of today’s greatest artists.  He has appeared on Raulin Rosendo’s album Lo Maximo, Simplemente; on Junior Gonzales’s album Mis Raizes; and on Willie Colon’s album Demasiado Corozon.  Harry has also recorded with Ray Santos and his Big Band, as well as Cachao.  He toured with Willie Colon for the past five years, and is currently playing with the Copacabana Band.

Harry plays a number of Tycoon Percussion’s professional timbales, including the Ralph Irizarry Signature Series timbale.
