Juan Junior Perez
Connecticut/New York
Independent
Junior Perez has three very distinct careers that rarely, if ever, meet. As a salsa musician specializing in Bongos and Timbales, Junior has collaborated in work produced by Caché and Brasa among many others. He places a respectable reputation regardless regardless of the job he is to perform or expected to perform.
Junior was born in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico. With a cultured, free-spirited support system at home, his family playa huge part in Junior's childhood. He grew up listening to El Gran Combo, Ray Barretto, Celia Cruz, Bobby Valentín, and Ismael Rivera. Junior also grew up listening to the music of Latin American artists such as Beny Moré. He played and shared a stage in Puerto Rico with Cultijo. Junior has also performed for American artists such as Meatloaf. Currently Junior is participating with Harry Adorno in performing with the Raulín Rosendo Band.
As a way of giving back to the community, Junior provides free instruction to children in the City of Bridgeport, Connecticut at the Geraldine Johnson Elementary School.
