2008, 2009 Latin Grammy Nominated drummer Carlos Palmet was born on March 6, 1982 in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. Since very little he was interested in music thanks to the influence of his grandfather, the great guitar player Sofronín Martinez Heredia. He started drums and music theory lessons in his native town. He was linking the environment and thus has built with great effort to create his own sound, when playing the drums.
Carlos is the drummer for Colombian pop singer “Fanny Lu”. She has won five SHOK Award in Colombia, two “Premio Lo Nuestro” awards in 2007, one Billboard Award for Latin Music in 2008 and also nominated to a Latin Grammy award in 2007. Six Nominations to Billboard Awards for Latin Music in 2008, four Nominations to MTV Latin America in 2009 and 4 Nominations to Shock Award in2009.
Carlos has also work as a drummer for artist such as Cabas, Paulina Rubio, Luis Fonsi, Fonseca, Reik, Aleks Syntek, Pernett and The Caribbean Ravers, Santiago Cruz, Armando Manzanero, Karoll Marquez, and many others. He has had the opportunity to play in North America, Central America, South America and Europe. Carlos has also performed in many festivals, events and awards around the world, and has been working to form his own style in all genres of music he has been involved in.
